The Jedi Order has its Code, the Rebel Alliance has it's quest for freedom, and whats left of the Galactic Empire has it's lust for power. He beleives in Credits, Alcohol, and Cantina Girls, and while the pursuit of those ends has gotten him into one or two major scrapes. He will never allow that to stop him.

[edit] Background

[edit] Childhood

From a young age, Durandal had his own way of doing things, which of course his Schoolmasters referred to as a "penchant for disobediance" Some students studied to pass their exams, which was ok for them, but Durandal much preferred to slice into the school computers to change his marks. And erase the records of his many absences. This left him plenty of time to practice his shooting and flying with the older children, and get into all kinds of trouble. Luckily, on paper he was a good student, and his attendance records helped him shmooze his way out of more than one sticky situation.

[edit] Young Adulthood

By the time he graduated school, he had all the qualifications and credentials of an honor student, even had a full scholarship offered to him to continue his education, but it was never books that interested him, it was adventure. He would sit in Astrogation Mathematics and imagine piloting a freighter through the twists and turns of an asteroid field, or pull the Kessel Run at full speed on the edge of his seat. He would spend weekends practicing his target shooting, and imagine taking on a whole battalion of Stormtroopers single-handedly, or rather, double-handedly. Durandal had been blessed with equal skill in both hands, and he made it a point to train them both.

His parents did the best the could, but eventually his misdeeds caught up with him. He was caught trying to sell a shipment of spice, and while his silver tongue barely got him free, his parents weren't interested in excuses. So, he left there, and with the shipment of spice still stashed safely away, he was able to buy passage on a "Pirate" ship. The Grim Corsair, it was called, Captain Renbeck commanding, and he was one gruff, mean, son of a bantha. But he and Durandal got along, and for a few years, he cut a swath across the galaxy, filling his pockets by emptying the holds of less fortunate ships.

[edit] Treacherous Times

But it didn't last. After a very lucrative job, the Captain got too clever for his own good, and tried to improve his cut. But Durandal caught wind just in time, and managed to get out before the mutiny. He jumped into the first escape pod he could find and hunkered down until it landed On Coruscant.

[edit] IC History

[edit] New Employment

He had landed right smack dab in the middle of the New Republic. But his unemployment was temporary, he got word of a Twi'lek woman in a seedy cantina, who did backgorund checks for a Privateer fleet.

[edit] Seige of Naboo

Durandal's first major action with the Privateers (after taking part in the rescue of Thalo and Kell), was participation in the Naboo Engagement. He was assigned to the ground force and tasked with defending the Starport while critical personnel were evacuated to transports. Durandal had planned to hold of the Stormtroopers with his pistols, but Kell Shane noticed an airspeeder in the port. Using the airspeeder, Durandal and Kell Shane (as gunner) nuetralized an AT-AT Walker with the tow cable, even while fragments of a crashing Star Destroyer fell around the small vehicle. After that, Durandal was among those trapped on the planet.

During his time on Naboo, he was wound several times, with varying degrees of severity. While out searching for survivors, Durandal was shot with a repeating blaster rifle, and severely wounded. He was stabilized, then later healed after making contact with the Resistance in a Naboo bar (during which he was struck in the face with a dinner plate and then hit with a stun bolt).

After making contact with the Resistance and being healed, he fought alongside them in a couple of hit-and-run attacks on Imperial supplies and equipment, which provided much needed resources for the Resistance's cause.

During the escape from Naboo, he was tasked with defending the base camp while other wounded survivors were evacuated to the transport that would get them off-world. During this engagement, he suffered a mild wound to the shoulder, and escaped off-world with the others.

[edit] Bloody Reunion

Weeks after returning to the ship, Durandal discovered a bounty placed on his head by the captain who had tried to betray him. Having lost his ship in a mutiny and subsequent ambush, Captain Renbeck had put the last of his funds into a small freighter with which he began operations anew.

Certain that it was the only way to get access to Renbeck, Durandal planned a double-cross, asking Kell Shane, Cheryn Treaus, and Zax to pose as Bounty Hunters in order to give the illusion of his capture. Lyela rigged a pair of binders with a quick release, while Doctor Hanew performed cosmetic surgeries to simulate wounds.

The engagement went poorly. Durandal underestimated the equipment resources of the small crew, and overestimated his own abilities. When struck and knocked down by Renbeck, Durandal struggled to release the cuffs. When he finally managed to free himself, he was able to draw a blaster and aim before being shot by Renbeck and incapacitated. His three companions fought off 5 enemies, while taking only moderate wounds.

Durandal spent awhile in the medbay immediately thereafter, planning to present himself for disciplinary action when he was able.

[edit] Birth of the Gunslinger Merchant

In the wake of the reunion with Renbeck, Durandal used a large portion of the bounty money earned for turning in Renbeck for study materials, contacts, and captial to begin legitimate trading operations. With the arrival of Dr. Rayne to the Privateer crew, he had access to a Ghtroc Freighter, with which he invested his capital in his first trade, running a full hold of Scrap Metal from Kashyyyk to Nar Shadda. From there, he continued his trading on the side, while still playing an active role in Privateer affairs.

[edit] Appearance

Durandal Corrimer is a tallish man, but not towering, though the suit of Cinnegar Combat Armor he wears adds bulk in some places, while warping the natural lines of his frame. From booted foot all the way up to plated chest, and back down to gloved hand, his body is encased in durasteel-alloy. His head is the only clearly visible part of his body, and that is only when he goes without his helmet.

Ice blue eyes look out from under a perpetually unkempt mop of brown hair. The same hair that shadows his cheek and chin as he seems to exist in a constant state of "Haven't shaved in a few days". An almost permanent smile is glued to his face, and the eyes sparkle with mischeif and mirth. His mood is light, belying the martial appearance of the armored carapace he wears. The only blemish on his face is a centimeter long scar on the bridge of his nose, where the flesh is raised slightly and discolored.

At his waist, a utility belt rounds his body, it looks like a standard Stormtrooper Utility belt, except that it's been repainted to blend with his armor. Twin holsters hang down at his sides, and twin pistols rest in them. DY-255 Pistols, black and silver weapons with custom handgrips to fit Durandal's hands.
